Camping is one of the great American pass times. One, two, three times a year or more, families across the country pack up sleeping bags, tents, air mattresses and other camping essentials and take off for the great outdoors. No camping trip would be complete without a great gas grill or charcoal grill. While there are dozens of grill manufacturers to sort through, it is often helpful to know a little about a company and its products before you make your decision on what to buy. A company that was started over 14 years ago and that set out to raise the standard in outdoor cooking is a business by the name of Lynx. From its humble beginnings, it has now grown to be the company who claims to make the world’s greatest grills.
Lynx professional grills are the company’s flagship products. Its base model Professional series is a twenty-seven inch model that sports 2 cast burners and produces a whopping 50,000 BTU’s. It has a six hundred and eighty-five square inch cooking surface, hot surface ignition system, halogen surface light, temp gauge, fluid rotation handles, hood assist kit, and a stainless steel overall finish. Lynx manufactures all of its products to commercial restaurant cooking equipment standards. Other features that can be added to the twenty-seven inch model are a built in rotisserie. These grills also have the capability to be built into an existing structure such as a deck or a patio. This particular model retails on the Lynx website for 3,839 dollars.
At the other end of the spectrum of professional grills is the fifty-four inch, free standing model which includes all the features of the base model plus a lot more. It has a built-in outdoor refrigerator, sliding tray for propane tank, vinyl cover included, proprietary pro-sear infrared side burner, double side burners, and three cast brass burners that deliver 100,000 BTU’s. The fifty-four inch model has a little over one thousand five hundred square inches of cooking space and dual halogen surface lights. All this luxury doesn’t come cheap with a retail price at about 9,500 bucks.
While Lynx doesn’t make a unit referred to as a lynx bbq grill, there are a variety of side burner BBQ systems that can bake those smores in no time. The Power Burner from Lynx, for example, makes a great stand alone barbecuer and is also attachable to the cart of an existing grill. It features control lighting with blue LED’s, enough surface area to accommodate a big stockpot, removable center grate, drip pan, and a removable stainless steel cover. It retails for a little over 1,000 dollars and has many of the same famous features that Lynx grills come standard with such as welded frames and a stainless steel finish.
Grilling in the outdoors wouldn’t be complete with out the necessary accessories. The company features a complete line of covers, insulated jackets, griddle plates and everything else you can think of for your grill. Grill covers for example have heavy duty vinyl construction, felt lined on the interior so stainless steel finishes don’t become scratched and a handy zippered front for easy on and off. Cover pricing varies by size however in general they are between 100 and 150 dollars.
Lynx products can only be purchased through one of hundreds of authorized retailers across the United States and Canada. The company has a strong web presence that can be found by visiting www.lynxprofessionalgrills.com where users can enter their zip code to find a dealer. The site also features a fully searchable inventory of grills and accessories as well as pricing, technical specifications and customer service.
Lynx core practice is to build outdoor cooking equipment that is as durable and long lasting as commercial equipment found in professional kitchens and restaurants. Welded frames, durable stainless steel finishes and cutting edge features combine to make a quality grill that will make you the envy of all your friends.
